This comes on top of the $400,000 for DVD propaganda. On this one political issue, that's over a million dollars.

My immediate reaction will be to stop giving money to the Church. I cannot, in good conscience, contribute money that will go to this massive waste of funds. What donations I would have made to the Church I will be sending to a non-denominational charity. Moreover, I believe that marriage is not just about compatibility of genitals or procreation. It is about two people who want to commit to each other in their minds and hearts. I will be voting against the amendment. I am fully in agreement with you that the threat to marriage is open divorce and annulments, not couples who actually want to live together in a legal arrangement. Nobody is requiring the Church to offer sacramental marriage to gay couples. What they want is purely legal marriage, with the same benefits that a traditional couple can enjoy.

I am repulsed by what is happening in this Archdiocese, and by the destructive power that Archbishop Nienstedt has unleashed. He seems to act with no regard to the harm he is causing, the division he is sowing, the people he is driving away, or the extravagant waste of scarce resources on this one issue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
